These optional extras will be arranged with you personally when in St. Lucia and are relatively expensive.

These activities can all be arranged at short notice once you are there in person, and prices vary according to the different tour operators and the different trip options available on the day.

Many of these trips are dependant on Numbers, and may require 4 or more people, just as the St. Lucia 101 trip requires a minimum of 4 persons.

The Back Packers lodge may also offer alternative optional extras which may be available. You will need to be there in person to arrange any of these optional extra excursions. So remember to bring along some extra cash just in case you get an opportunity to do some thing out of the ordinary.

St. Lucia and the Elephant Coast is world famous for the arts and crafts that are produced by the locals, so remember to bring a little extra just in case you discover a great art piece that you would like to take home with you. The 24 Hour market in McKenzie Street has a wide range of high quality arts and crafts, though not all are manufactured locally.

Night life in St. Lucia is not covered by us and you will need to pay your own way and buy your own drinks. Entry to most clubs and night spots in St. Lucia is free and cover charges are normally charged for special events only.

If you want to relax and have a drink or 2 at the back packers hostel you will be free to do so. They do not have their own pub or bar, but there are bottle stores and shabeens in the St. Lucia village. The local bottle stores have a fair selection of wines and the standard South African fare of beers and spirits. The prices are reasonable and not much different from any other town in South Africa.

Remember to bring a little extra cash for just in case you want to do something no included in the St. Lucia 101 tour, or want to spend anight out with the boys and paint the town pink
