These ablution facilities at the hides of isimangaliso birding route do not need to be very sophisticated, but should however contain the following elements:

  1. A clean flushable toilet
  2. A wash basin with water
  3. Fresh clean drinking water
  4. Facilities to wash cups, glasses etc.

It must be remembered that the clients using these facilities have paid  for the privilege of being able to see wild birds in their natural habitat, and that we want to make their stay at our facility as memorable as possible. Once again the majority of those using our facilities will be from the upper market segment of the world population, and these people generally do not appreciate having to squat in the open bush, to do what is often viewed as vulgar and uncouth.
