Isimangaliso Nyalazi Concept Aims Objectives Purpose Memebership Office Constituition
The decision to form a Co-operative was not the first option, and after
evaluating various other business models it was decided that the Co-operative route would
best suite our requirements as the isimangaliso Birding Route will become a vast collection of
small projects which will eventually become one of the major tourism draw cards of
the Umkhanyakude District Municipality. |
The concept on which the isimangaliso Birding Route is based was
first discussed in November 2003 and Frank Gainsford, the CEO of
Mtuba4u realised the
potential of such a project to empower the rural population of Umkhanyakude District
Municipality. isimangaliso Birding route will become a major draw card for eco friendly
tourism within the Greater St. Lucia wetlands park and surrounding rural areas of the
Elephant Coast and Umkhanyakude District Municipality of KZN South Africa as our concept
expands to include other areas of the Elephant Coast |
On 18 March 2005 a decision was taken at an informal
gathering of the Directors of Mtuba4u to form a Co-operative called Nyalazi Birding
Co-operative to become the first co-op working as a block stop along isimangaliso Birding Route.
The first step to getting this Co-op functional is to create a constitution which will
guide the Nyalazi Birding Co-operative and form a solid foundation from which to
grow. |
